Helldivers 2, latest update! Good or bad?

The game Helldivers 2 is a horde shooter game featuring various maps, enemies, and objectives. The latest update, released on September 2, 2025, has PC, Xbox, and PlayStation fans excited to play with the new patches and additions to the game.

Patches and fixes

They have fixed over 200 bugs to make the game feel better to play. They balanced enemies, strategems, and light and medium penetrating weapons. They made the game overall feel smoother to play. The weapons have their advantages and disadvantages against certain enemies. Enemy armor has been fixed so that they don’t use up everything in your loadout to kill. Movements feel more fluid and human-like than before, so it feels more immersive.

Glitches and bugs

Bugs with vehicles still exist. An example is when they get stuck on enemies or small obstacles that they are normally able to pass over. In the past, vehicles would get stuck in spots that don’t make sense or in places you simply can’t get to. There are still issues with it at the moment, so all you can do for now is be careful where you place your strategems and where you take them.

New warbond

The new warbond includes new armor, weapons, vehicle skins, and three new strategems: the expendable napalm, the spear gun, and the solo silo. The expendable napalm is a single-shot rocket launcher that shoots a projectile and spreads a carpet of fire on impact. The spear gun is a reloadable gun that shoots a single harpoon that releases a gas cloud shortly after it stops moving. It can also go through weaker enemies. Lastly, the solo silo is a single mortar shell that will lock onto an enemy that you tell it to. Although there’s nothing that makes it stand out from other warbonds. However, it is designed to fit the challenges of the new planet layouts and their enemies.

New enemies and maps

In this update, they added caves and five new enemies: the rupture warrior, the rupture spewer, the rupture charger, the dragon roach, and the hive lord. The warriors are basic enemies that will try to kill you with their claws. The spewers will spit a stream of acid at you while you’re busy fighting off other insects. The charger is a big insect with tough plates on its front side so it can run headfirst at you. The dragon roach is almost like a bile titan… but with wings! It will swoop down and set you on fire if you get caught in its range. Lastly, the hive lord. The hive lord is a massive worm-like creature that burrows underground and will not hesitate to pop up underneath you. Most players really love these new enemies, despite how annoying and difficult they can be. Difficult enemies, alongside not being able to call strategems in whenever you’d like, prove to be a difficult challenge for players.
