Is The Good Place worth watching?
Many shows that I watch are background noise to me, nothing that grabs my attention. The Good Place is the only show that hooked me from the start. It left me satisfied yet disappointed that it was over. The Good Place not only tackles the afterlife in a funny way, but it also brings in many issues that exist in our world. This is the only show that I watch when I want comfort. This is because of the characters I love or because of the general feeling of joy the show gives me. If you are looking for a new show to watch that will make you think while also keeping it light, watch The Good Place.

Why is The Good Place important in real life?
The Good Place is not only a show but a new way of looking at life for those who watch it. In The Good Place, many important issues in our lives and world appear. That could be why it resonates with so many people. The good place was eye-opening when I watched it for the first time. It shows that people are good at heart, but our environment and circumstances affect who we are. It also shows that everyone is capable of change. The writers made something that people care about and even learn from. “I argue that we choose to be good because of our bonds with other people and our innate desire to treat them with dignity. Simply put, we are not in this alone. – Chidi Anagonye”. This is a quote from a character in The Good Place. As you can see by this quote the people that wrote The Good place had more in mind than making a funny show for viewers.
How The Good Place affects those who watch it
The Good Place received many reviews about how it has changed its viewers’ lives. Linda Holmes a pop culture correspondent said in her review of The Good Place, “There was so much in this series to admire: outstanding performances from the core cast and tons of guests, wonderful writing, weird jokes, a positively divine official podcast, glorious production design, inventive visual effects and, yes, the decision to exit when it was time.” The Good Place is a funny but also positive and meaningful way of looking at life and the choices we make. In the show, one of the main characters, Eleanor Shellstrop, is not a good person when she dies. During her time in the afterlife, she improves. Without the complexity and unintended consequences on Earth, she can be a good person. She proves time and time again that people are good at heart but they’re molded by their surroundings. This show is all about being better than you were yesterday and we need more people like that in the world.
Why we should all watch The Good Place
The Good Place is one of the best sitcoms that are out right now. Receiving 97% on rotten tomatoes and 89% on user reviews is not an easy thing to achieve. But that is exactly what The Good Place has done. Linda Holmes also said in her review of The Good Place, “Humanity is beautiful and weird and frustrating, and joy and loss are twins. That’s a lot to get out of a show.” Everyone should watch The Good Place in their life. Not only is it an amazing show but the meanings in the show and the lessons to learn apply to everyone. A character in the show states, “What matters isn’t if people are good or bad. What matters is, if they’re trying to be better today than they were yesterday. You asked me where my hope comes from? That’s my answer.” This is how The Good Place is more than background noise when you are doing something else. It makes those who watch it reflect on themselves in ways they haven’t before. This funny, philosophical, light-hearted, realistic show is worth sitting down to watch.
