Created by Walt Disney himself on October 1st, 1971, Disney World in Orlando, Florida, is the world’s largest theme park. Its four major theme parks, two waterparks, and themed hotels are some of the reasons people love the park.
Time Well Spent Magazine says, “Walt Disney World is a magical place where outside issues are left at the door.” For many, it is an important place where you can escape reality. It is a spot where you can forget about anything going on in the real world. You can relax and enjoy the magic and nostalgia of Disney!
Disney’s 4 theme parks
It is no surprise that the most popular park at Disney World is its first ever opened, Magic Kingdom. Suzanne Rowan Kelleher says, “The perennial favorite, Magic Kingdom park at Disney World… grabbed the crown as the world’s most-visited theme park, attracting a reported 17.1 million visitors in 2022.” The park is a major attraction for kids because of its iconic characters and nostalgic rides. Magic Kingdom has the iconic Cinderella’s Castle as well as the ride It’s A Small World. “The park is timeless and full of fantasy and magic — truly the most ‘Disney’ of the resort’s theme parks,” says Mommy Frog, writer for the Undercover Tourist.

Magic Kingdom is statistically the most popular park. However, EPCOT is not far behind with around 11.98 million visitors per year. The park is a cultural icon with amazing and exotic food. It also has the concept of traveling around the world through 11 different countries. This makes it an unforgettable experience for everyone. EPCOT is also known for its advanced, technology-themed rides. The park brings you to the future and, as the slogan says, allows you to experience “The Magic of Possibility.” The park is a 9 out of 10.
Dining and food options

Disney World has over 400 spots to eat across all parks and lodging. Throughout the park, there are many diet and allergy-free options. Disney also makes an effort to stay on theme when it comes to food. Mickey makes his appearance on many food items. Located in Magic Kingdom, Cinderella’s Royal Table is one of the most visited food spots. It is also said to be one of the most beloved dining spots in the park. Mike, a writer for the Disney Daily Dime, says the restaurant is “Probably the most famous character meal in all of Disney World…”. Known for its magical princesses, the restaurant is in the famous Cinderella’s Castle. It is a major spot for little kids, especially aspiring princesses! Due to its popularity, it can be hard to get a spot. For this reason, many people decide to skip this famous dining attraction.

While Cinderella’s Royal Table is an amazing experience, it may not be in most people’s budget. The long lines and pricey food make it a questionable spot for many despite its popularity. So, Skippers Canteen in Magic Kingdom is a great alternative! It is not as popular, so the lines are usually shorter. The restaurant also provides many allergy-accommodating items. The menu has a special section that lists dedicated allergy-free options. This makes the restaurant a very inclusive spot. Not only is it a great place for people with allergies, but it is also a hit spot for kids. The nature theme draws many in and provides a fun dining environment. Overall, a 4 out of 5 star experience.
Rides and rollercoasters
EPCOT has one of the most popular roller coasters at Disney World. Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is a major attraction for many families. It has many unique twists and turns and is inside a dark, galaxy-looking dome. The ride has a unique combination of turns and speed. It also “features the first ever reverse-launch on a Disney Coaster and is one of the largest fully-enclosed coasters in the world!” The ride is smooth and fun for all ages while still being very exhilarating.

The Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind ride is very thrilling. But it doesn’t give the same nostalgia that some of the other rides have. The Slinky Dog Dash is a favorite ride based on a favorite movie, Toy Story. It provides comfort in the theme but also has some amazing features. The coaster takes you into Andy’s backyard. It makes you feel like you’re racing through his yard on his homemade track. The ride is fast and exciting while not being too intense, making it great for all ages. It is even better at night when the track is lit up, and you can pretend to be one of Andy’s toys looking up at the stars! Definitely a 5 out of 5 star ride.
Resorts and lodging

Currently, the most popular, famous, and one of the original Disney Resorts is in Magic Kingdom. This is Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort. It has many amazing features that make it such a popular spot for many families. According to Disney’s website, “There are currently more than 25 Disney Resort hotels to choose from in the Disney Resorts Collection.” Yet, the Polynesian resort has remained the most popular for over 50 years since it first opened in 1971. The resort includes a Monorail to take you from the resort to Disney’s Magic Kingdom as well as EPCOT. Some features in the resort include pools, boat rentals, a trail, a spa, and many outdoor activities. From the gorgeous views to the delicious food, the resort has maintained its status as the most popular resort for years.

While the Polynesian Resort is great, it can be pricey. Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort is almost half the price of the Polynesian Resort. It is in EPCOT’s resort area and offers access to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios. The resort “transports Guests to a relaxing paradise that captures the essence of 5 distinct islands: Barbados, Jamaica, Martinique, Trinidad, and Aruba.” It can make you feel like you are on a tropical island while still giving you that magical Disney feeling. Some amenities include pools with waterslides and outdoor activities. These activities may include fishing, movie nights, and volleyball. The resort offers a handful of dineries, with most having allergy-friendly options. This resort is an 8 out of 10.
There are many options to choose from when booking a stay at Disney World. Some make you feel like you would want to stay there forever. But did you know that Walt Disney originally intended for EPCOT to be a functioning city? Its goal was to have around 20,000 inhabitants. EPCOT stands for Experimental Prototype City Of Tomorrow. Walt Disney “intended to open the city as a liveable vision of the future, and invite families to come and live there” (Crazy Facts). Yet, the park wasn’t finished before he died. The construction team thought the idea was too ambitious. So, the park was built in a futuristic style to try and pay homage to Disney’s big dreams.
