The next big game in the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is coming out on October 25th. But why are people excited about this game when many other games are coming out soon?
There is a lot of information and hype leading to the release. From the advertising to the features, here is why people are on the edge of their seats for the release.
Who is excited about this game?
“As far as a beta goes, this is one of the better ones I can remember. For example, back when I did my first impressions of the Modern Warfare 2 beta, I was actually pretty concerned by what I saw, but almost all of the rough edges had been sanded off by release. With the Black Ops 6 beta, I find myself with very few concerns already,” states Seth G. Macy, IGN author.
What features make this game exciting?
According to Wesely Yin-Poole, a writer from IGN.com, people are raving about the omnidirectional movement. Treyarch makes it so players can “sprint, dive, and slide” in any direction. This new feature is coming to the Call of Duty series and was never in any previous games in the Franchise.
Where does this game take place?
“While the Gulf War commands the global spotlight, a shadowy clandestine force has infiltrated the highest levels of the CIA, branding anyone who resists as traitors,” according to The Call of Duty Publishing team, Activision Publishing, Inc.
When can people expect the full release of Black Ops 6?
Black Ops 6 is coming out on October 25th, 2024 for most of the mainstream consoles. According to Cole Martin, a Windows Cetnral author, it is even coming out on cloud gaming services like GeForce Now on release. Also, an update for Call of Duty implementing Black Ops 6 released on Steam on October 21st, 2024.
Why are people excited about the game?
As mentioned, the omnidirectional movement is a huge reason people are getting excited. The prestige system is coming back to the franchise. Once players reach a certain level they can reset up to 10 times back to zero. Another feature coming to this new game is the feature to rewatch your games or the “Theater” mode. How are they advertising this game?
According to Eddie Makuch, a writer from GameSpot.com, on May 23, big newspapers featured “The Truth Lies”. Advertising it on their front pages, like the USA Today and The New York Post. Later, a teaser came out, which had political leaders like former U.S. presidents Clinton and George H. W Bush. It also had ex-UK prime minister Margaret Thatcher. Former Iraq president Saddam Hussein featured in it as well. It went public on YouTube on May 28th according to Michael McWhertor, a writer for polygon.com.
Yet, some of the guns/gunplay in the beta aren’t the best compared to previous Call Of Duty games. This could make the experience not as fun. According to Seth Macy, the gunplay in Black Ops 6 feels good. Compared to Modern Warfare 3 though, it has some flaws with the time to kill being slow for most of the guns. Yet, the snipers in Black Ops 6 are very easy to use and are “baby guns for babies”. Which, compared to Modern Warfare 3, the weapons are a lot less balanced.
In the end, there are more positives for this upcoming release than negatives. People are still excited for the game’s full release.
