Jenison’s volleyball team has started out undefeated as of Tuesday, September 27th. Led by four seniors, they are looking to make a run.

Jenison’s volleyball team had thunderous wins at home this year already to Reeths-Puffer and Kenowa Hills. The team is sitting pretty at first place in the OK Black Conference. Great teamwork is used by this team, using all the weapons they have.

Tuesday, September 27, the Wildcats played Kenowa Hills at home, sweeping the Knights 3-0.  Led by Junior Aubrey Wrubel with 18 kills, the Knights couldn’t outmatch the Cats. Great defense, led by Ashley Hoek, was displayed during the match.

Aubrey Wrubel said that she is proud of how the team is coming together to get these wins. She said she is most excited to play against Fruitport because it was so close last game and they still stuck out the win.

During the game Tuesday, the first state champion volleyball team from Jenison from 2007 was honored. With eight of the 11 from the 2007 team going on to play college volleyball, they set the tone for Jenison volleyball’s success.

With such a great start this year, the team needs our full support.

“The crowd get us on edge when they are as into it as we are,” says Aubrey Wrubel.

The team will host an invitational on Saturday, October 14. The team is looking to take advantage of non-conference play for more experience and wins under their belt.
