The sequel to the hit movie Guardians of the Galaxy was released on May 5. Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 is the second movie in the Guardians of the Galaxy series.

One reason the first Guardians of the Galaxy was so popular was the soundtrackWith songs like “Hooked on a Feeling” by Blue Swede and “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough” by Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell. It is easy to see why the soundtrack has become one of the most popular in recent years. However, does Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 have the same flair?

To most people of the recent generations music from the 70’s isn’t on the top of their playlist but the songs in Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 are still great songs. The whole idea of old songs in a movie hasn’t been new since the first Guardians of the Galaxy; the idea is original and well placed for the series as a whole. Although the songs in the new movie weren’t as catchy as the songs from the first, the song timing and pacing fit the movies scenes well.

Overall, Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 soundtrack is as good if not better than before as it included scenes that the song was sold by, not the other way around. The music theme of Guardians of the Galaxy vol. 2 one of the best non-classical compositions in recent history.
